10 Invaluable CSS Resources

First things first. I'm an application (middle tier) developer. My design skills while adequate, are not by any means what I'd like them to be. Like a good geek girl, I've been working on this. I've put together a list of very helpful CSS resources I've stumbled upon in my quest to improve my presentation layer skills. I thought I'd share them:

  1. CSS Cheat Sheet – This is a really quick reference jam-packed with useful information and formatted to make a great printout to stick on the wall or cork board.
  2. Tizag's CSS Tutorial – This covers all the basics. It's easy to follow, and provides useful examples
  3. W3 Schools CSS Tutorial – I especially like this tutorial because they provide an editor you can use to play with the css code and try things out for yourself
  4. htmlPlayground – This site not only has a place to edit and try your code – it **IS** a place to edit and try your code. I love the interface, and it gives wonderful examples. This is more of a reference as opposed to a tutorial
  5. CSS Tricks – this is a blog that is packed full of helpful articles. I liked most everything here.
  6. Sitepoint CSS Reference – a pretty comprehensive reference that includes a list of live demos
  7. HTML Dog's Advanced Tutorial – there's also a beginner and intermediate tutorial here
  8. NETTUTS – they post lots of quick tips here – great content!
  9. Listmatic – A complete reference on lists – especially useful for creating horizontal and vertical menus
  10. Meyerweb – Everything CSS – This is a great resource to visit once you've learned the basics – amazing stuff

And just for a bonus – there's 10 Useful CSS tricks to Conquer the World!

This list above is enough to more than get you going with CSS. I refer to most of them almost daily. Enjoy!
